National Examinations Council of Tanzania announced results of Form Four Examination ( CSEE ) 2013 on 21.02.2014 . After the announcement of the results, the Council has been receiving numerous questions showing that some education stakeholders did not understand well about the pass grade points, the bottom pass mark and Variation of overall candidate performance. Examinations Council wishes to provide clarification on these issues as follows :1. Performance standards ( grade) are groups of symbols slotted to keep together candidates with similar ability in a subject to distinguish the candidates with those who are in another group . These groups are organized to enable stakeholders to identify how candidates diffuse in different levels of fluency in a certain subject . National Examinations Council of Tanzania , has been grouping the candidates into five ( 5 ) group for a long time until 2012 . In addition , From Test Form Four
( CSEE ) 2013, the Council has started using the procedure of Grouping them into Seven ( 7 ) groups which are A, B +, B , C , D , E and F. This process is intended to reduce congestion of score in one group . The distribution of these groups are shown in Table. 1.below
