The Aga Khan Foundation is on the way to build a hospital for heart and camcer malady. This programme is hoped to be a big solution in serving our Forex and time. Currently patients incur alot of foreign exchange for travel to India and other foreign countries for the treatment.
This was highlighted last week on the day for Rays of light exhibition in Dar es salaam to commemorate the life and work of His Majesty Prince Aga Khan the Ismailia Muslim Leader.
Confirming this prospect Prime Minister Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda said he had obtain the affirmative answer from Ismailia Muslim Leaders.
The Prime Minister pointed out that service from this Aga Khan Institute will not only reduce costs and number of Tanzanians going out to access treatment but it will also do away with trouble and shame of going to Nairobi or South Africa for medical treatment for cancer and heart.
Mr.Pinda said this when he was responding to a question asked after the launch on the why Aga Khan Hospitals are built in remote areas.To answer this he said the suggestion is good what matters is quality and good services.
He added that Prince Aga Khan's work is extended beyond the nation's borders, across deserts, oceans and mountains and the launch will remain a historical event to Tanzanians and people of the world to away remeber.
"You all will agree with me that Tanzania is a second home for his Highness Aga Khan. His early and first visit to Tanzania was in 1961 on Independence Day where he met the father of the Nation Mwl Julius Kambarage Nyerere. Nevertheless, thereafter he made several visits before 2007 there he celebrated the Golden Jubilee of 50 years." Mr.Pinda added.
Later,few days after the Golden Jubilee in 2007 the concept of the Rays of Light exhibition was founded in France and it have toured Lisbon. London. USA and United Arab Emirates.
It is a photographic exhibition and Multimedia portraying Prince Aga Khan's life serving humanity, upholding dignity of man and promoting peace and stability towards the people regardless of their religion or origin.
The President of his Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imam Ismaili Council of Tanzania Mr.Jehangir Bhaloo said the Ismaili Community has been in the country for almost 150 years and all that long it had been promoting for the better economic livelihoods.
Mr. Bahloo added that he is happy to note that over the years they had been a good pulsating partner to the development of the nation and pledged to continue working hand in hand wit the government and other communities.
The Aga Khan Development Networks is committed to Tanzania's progress. It's first effort came to remark since 1905 where it established the first girls' Aga Khan School. Since then The Ismaili Imamat through this Network Institutions has built 64 Aga Khan schools and 86 other schools under the East African Musilim Welfare Society." He elaborated.
Aga Khan is the 49th, hereditary spiritual leader of the world's 15 million Shia Ismaili Muslims and he is the founder and the chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). His Highness the Aga Khan became Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims on July 11, 1957 at the age of 20, succeeding his grandfather, Sir Sultan Mahomed Shah.
