DAR ES SALAAM - Tanzanian President Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete this week on Wednesday April 9, 2014 awarded by The African Leadership Magazine Group for being the Most Impactful African Leader for 2013 .
This award is given annually to African leaders who meet leadership standards set by this magazine, including adherence to good governance, democracy and human rights.
The statement said The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Bernard Membe was expected to receive the award on behalf of the president in Washington, D.C. in the United States.
African Leadership Magazine is a publication for business executives, government officials, and development leaders across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the United States.
It is said that President Kikwete won the award after the magazine was satisfied with Tanzania’s performance on the international level.
This year again President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma was confirmed to receive the African President of the year 2013 Award and participate as Special Guest of Honor during the 6th International Summit on African Leadership hold on February 27, 2014 at The St Regis, Washington D.C, U.S.A, in an event organized by the African Leadership magazine.
Kikwete will join a distinguished list of past recipients of the African Leadership Award.
Other past recipients of African Leadership Magazine Awards include H.E, Atiku Abubakar, Former Vice President of Nigeria; H.E, Xavier Luc Duval, Vice Premier of Mauritius; Mr. Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank;
